President: Rosalind Lawson
Rosalind is a painter, sculptor, papermaker and musician living in Napoleons. She was a lecturer in studio practice at the Arts Academy Federation University and still conducts painting classes in Sebastopol.
Currently our President, Rosalind has organised and participated in art activities with the Golden Plains Arts Inc. for many years. Along with involvement in the Golden Plains Arts Trails, Rosalind has, with others, organised several events that offered Arts Inc. members a chance to collaborate and exhibit work. Speed making was a weekend challenge held in the Napoleons Hall. Art created through the Pairing Project was exhibited in Geelong at the Alfred Deakin Library Gallery.
Vice President: Barry Wemyss
Making ceramics, and other artforms, has been his way of life for almost 40 years. Being attracted to the aesthetics of Japanese ceramics in his early years of study, together with his affinity with our vast Australian countryside and nature, his work entails inspiration that derives pleasure from using found sticks for handles to adorn his work. Essentially, teapots are his preferred artforms.
Barry has been a member of Golden Plains Arts Inc for approximately 14 years, with 3 years as Vice President.
Secretary: Marita Reynolds
Marita Reynolds past life was in Human Resources where she was the founder and operator of a Dental Personnel Agency for 21 years. Marita has always been self-employed and went on to open a Wellness Centre for 9 years in the Eastern suburbs of Melbourne where she practiced as a reflexologist and meditation teacher.
Having opted for a tree change in 2014, Marita moved to the Golden Plains Shire to follow her passion and desire to create. Marita now conducts Kid’s and Adult drawing classes in Bannockburn and Bellbrae.
Treasurer: Rosslyn Bosnar
Rosslyn Bosnar has lived in Bannockburn for 33 years and joined the Bannockburn District Art group in 2000. This group is now GP Arts Inc.
A qualified hairdresser and make up artist, Ros loves the use of colour and uses it in all manner of crafts including set design and floristry. Ros enjoys the company of other artists and spends time encouraging people to use art as a healing therapy, which she has used successfully in her own health and well-being.
Ros loves her garden and has been a member of the local gardening club for 25 years. She uses a variety of mediums to create, including watercolour, oil, pastel , silk painting and acrylic paint pouring. Ros runs popular workshops in paint pouring throughout the Golden Plains area.
