You may be a beginner or had some experience. You may want to fill gaps in your creative journey or you may simply wish to join in.

This 6-week program is designed to build knowledge and skills, grow an understanding of a variety of media, develop personal confidence in art making and have fun doing so.

Interesting, provocative, stimulating, enlivening.

• Paint colour matching – finish half image in colour
• Colour mixing – acrylics, water colour, oils
• Using negative space as key
• Timed drawing – blind contour, continuous line – fine-liner, charcoal Upside-down drawing
• Drawing from observation – 3D object in front of you, draw what you see – How?
• Copying fro a reference – copying by translation, using a grid
• Drawing from memory – observe an object, hold it in your hand, get to know it, put it away, now  draw it.
• Drawing from imagination – blots, cracks and textures.

Bookings for these classes are essential as spaces are limited. Dates will vary depending on availability.

These sessions are either $240 for six session  – refreshments and all materials are provided.

Deidre is a highly experienced teacher, artist and facilitator. Her studio at Alpaca Downs is the centre of a range of Art Classes and workshops ranging in pencil drawings, painting, collage, printmaking and portraiture.
