Medium: Colour pencil and Graphite drawings
Janet Matthews, a multi-award winning artist, creates her wildlife and botanical artworks with Colour pencil and Graphite. Her work engages and inspires viewers with the beauty and uniqueness of our natural world while “telling a story”. Her artworks have won many accolades, a Focus on Nature Award at the New York State Museum, USA and has represented Australia in the World Wide Botanical Exhibition 2018. She won Wildlife Artist of the Year in 2017, 2013 and 2011. Her artwork features on stamps commissioned by Australia Post released in 2006 and 2009 and currently in 2021. Also are in the permanent collections of the Roberson Museum and Science Centre, and the New York State Museum, USA. She is a Fellow of the Wildlife Art Society of Australasia, a Fellow of the Australian Guild of Realist Artists and holds a Diploma and a Graduate Diploma of Visual Arts, Monash University.
