Our Committee

Art is a way of life in the Golden Plains Shire. Stretching north to south, the shire nestles up to the regional centres of Ballarat and Geelong. It’s the best of both worlds and that may be why it attracts so many creative souls.

Golden Plains Arts Inc. is proud to support local artists. We have more than 100 members and we welcome new members with an interest in visual arts, music, film, literature and other creative pursuits to join our vibrant community.

President: Barry Wemyss

Making ceramics, and other artforms, has been his way of life for almost 40 years. Being attracted to the aesthetics of Japanese ceramics in his early years of study, together with his affinity with our vast Australian countryside and nature, his work entails inspiration that derives pleasure from using found sticks for handles to adorn his work. Essentially, teapots are his preferred artforms.

Barry has been a member of Golden Plains Arts Inc for approximately 14 years, with 3 years as Vice President.

Along with involvement in the Golden Plains Arts Trails, Rosalind has, with others, organised several events that offered Arts Inc. members a chance to collaborate and exhibit work.
